Introduction Shawnee County, Kansas is comprised of eleven cities (or towns), including; Auburn, Belmont, Berryton, Dover, Grove, Pauline, Rossville, Silver Lake, Tecumseh, Topeka, and Wakarusa. Shawnee County has a population of 169,871, which represents approximately .06% of the total U.S. population. Using gender, age, and race, a comparison of the Shawnee County and U.S. populations will be discussed. The results will be illustrated through the use of various graphs. This comparison will conclude that the Shawnee County population resembles the total U.S. population.
