“Racism and Reparations” I found the article “Racism and Reparations” to be somewhat exaggerated. I think much of it is true but just taken to the extreme. The issue of racism is a very serious one, but the author of this essay tends to dramatize the issue. For example the author says “this society has never truly confronted the reality that the disproportionate wealth that most white people enjoy today was first constructed from centuries of unpaid Black labor”. That is a completely absurd statement that is not necessarily true. By the tone of this article I think it would be safe to assume that Manning Marable is black.
