Venture Capital Plays An Important Role To Promote Malaysia Bernama, 17 September 2003: The venture capital industry plays an important role to promote Malaysia as a trading nation, said National Economic Action Council (NEAC) executive director, Datuk Mustapa Mohamed. He said the government put a lot of effort in encouraging domestic investments and to be less dependent on foreign direct investments (FDI). "As we know, Malaysia is one of the biggest exporters in the world with US$100 billion worth of trade, but if we go into detail, most of these exports originate from foreign multinational companies.
