I now understand that change is a much broader topic then I previously thought and the more thought I give it the larger if find it is. ¡§Change” is defined in the dictionary as alteration, modification, substitution of one thing for another, and replacement. This means that it includes every shift that takes place in a person, and their environment. There are many types of change throughout the world. When defining changing perspective we must first have a clear understanding of what perspective is. Perspective is defined in the dictionary as a view, apparent relationship, a way in which people, ideas or things are perceived, ways of seeing or reading things. When these views or perceptions are altered this is called changing perspective. There are various things which cause self change, such as the environment which we live in, the gender that we are born with, our beliefs and the beliefs of our parents, and also the experiences which we have. There are various texts which I have studied, which have helped me in different ways in reaching my understanding of change and changing perspective. They include: „h ¡§Looking for Alibrandi” (Book) „h ¡§Changing” (Stimulus Booklet) „h ¡§Passing of an Era” (Historical Source) „h Photograph of September 11th „h ¡§Change your Life” (Poem) „h ¡§Messages to be monitored” (Feature Article) „h ¡§Change your life” (Letter to the editor) Firstly, the text ¡§Looking for Alibrandi”, has a variety of changes in perspective and changes in life, as the main character Josephine Alibrandi has a major change from Adolescence to adulthood, also she undergoes change within her family life which transforms her perspective on who she is and where se comes from.
