Being the Classic Realist
Being the Classic Realist As I shuffled into the Koury Center at 8:50 on Monday morning, the only question in my mind revolved around when I would be able to go back to my new room and get more sleep. I stared drearily at the orientation schedule in my “Elon University” planner and as soon as I saw the words “Academic Message”, I assumed, far too quickly, that for the next hour I would be forced to listen to another professor lecture to us about the importance of getting enough rest and going to class. These two topics had already been drilled into my freshly collegiate head, therefore, I figured that I would leave in the next sixty minutes knowing no new information, feeling extremely exhausted, and asking myself the same insignificant questions that I had while brushing my teeth an hour and a half earlier.
